Maurice Gavignet Gevrey Chambertin 2022

Maurice Gavignet is a family-owned winery in Burgundy, France, with a history spanning four generations. Founded by Honor Gavignet in Nuits Saint Georges, he was born in 1879 and worked at the Domaine de la Romane-Conti until 1920 before settling in Nuits-St-Georges.

Today, the domaine continues to be known for its Pinot Noir wines, particularly those from the Cte de Nuits region. Over the last decade, the Domaine has grown with vineyards on the Cte de Beaune at Monthelie, Santenay, Savigny les Beaune and Pommard. This is how the Domaine becomes one of the pearls of the Cte d\’Orien vineyard.

Taste Profile:The style of a classic Gevrey Chambertinwine.A beautiful violet colour. We find beautiful cherry, blackberry and blueberry tastes on the palate. The finish is spicy and accentuated by fine and elegant wood.

Winemaking Process:Their wines age in Merrain French oak barrels for 18 months and our vintages contain from 25% to 100% new barrels depending on the appellation. The exact percentages are not disclosed
